Srinagar, Dec 30 (UNI) Alleging that the administration chose to brazenly violated the NIA court order by not allowing youth PDP leader Waheed-Ur-Rehman Parra to take oath as DDC member, former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said it won’t be an exaggeration to see it as a mischief to deny him his fundamental right.
“NIA Court clearly directed @dcpulwama to administer oath to PDPs @parawahid. Yet the administration chose to brazenly violate this order. Won’t be an exaggeration to see it as mischief to deny Waheed his fundamental right. @ECISVEEP @KKSharmaJK,” Ms Mehbooba, who is the president of PDP, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Ms Mehbooba also posted the copy of the court order by Special Judge NIA, directing the Superintendent of District Jail Ambphalla, Jammu and Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama to make arrangements for oath taking ceremony of Parra through video conference. Parra should be connected through video conference to the office of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Pulwama, on December 28, 2020 at 1100 hrs, the order said.
Parra was arrested by NIA about five days after he filed his nomination paper for DDC seat from Pulwama. However, he won after his family members and other PDP leader campaigned in his favour. Parra remained under the detention of NIA since November 25 for his alleged links with Hizbul Mujahideen (HM)
On Monday, 138 DDC elected members, including a pregnant woman, from all the 10 districts of the Kashmir valley took oath to uphold the Constitution and Sovereignty of the country. They were administered oath by respective District Development Commissioners.
